AFUERA is the Spanish word for outside or in a borader meaning without. In this experimental short film, conceived as an abstract essay, two nameless characters have a wordless dialogue - with each other, and with the thoughts of future possibilities. The spoken text is based on reflections by Erich Maria Remarque and the Jewish intellectual Etty Hillesum, pointing at the question: What can constitute a good life in the face of isolation and violence?
